1984 Honda magna blown engine
motorcycle
engine
I have a 1984 Honda magna with a whole in my crankcase. I'm wondering if I should engine swap it or fix the hole. But I'm not sure what causes it to blow , I'm assuming too high revs as the previous owner messed with it so the revs could go past redline. Let me know if you have any info. Thanks!!

You have to replace the entire engine block. If there is a hole the engine block is deemed unrepairable and must be replaced. Cracks in the engine block can be stitch welded but is advised against as you can potentially damaged the block further if it has been heat treated in its production.

I have never done this but I have been told by a mechanic that JB Weld will fix some block cracks and holes. Worth looking into.
