OIL CHANGE ON 2017 AUDI S3
Tools:
- Jack and safety stands
- Torx bits - T20 T45 T30
- 3/8 Ratchet
STEP 1
- Raise your car up using the lift points and use jack stands for support
- Make sure the car is fully supported
- Pop the hood

Step 2
- Open the oil filler cap for easy draining
STEP 3
- Remove skid plate
- 3 Torx 45 and 8 torx 20
STEP 4
- Remove the drain plug
- Its a plastic drain plug use a torx 30 as your socket
- It does not require power to undo it as well as tightening it so be careful!
STEP 5
- Once, oil has been drained put back the drain plug
- Install skid plate
STEP 6
- Grab your oil filter, located beside the dipstick
- its a 32mm socket cartridge filter
Engine cover removed
- Remove O-ring
- Put new O-ring and filter in
- install back in the engine
- Do not over tighten it
STEP 7
- Pour the oil in, this car took about 5.5 litres of oil
- It can take different types of oil too, but I used 5w-30
STEP 8
- Start the car let it run for couple of seconds, shut it off let the oil go down the oil pan
- And check the oil level, its always better to add oil in than to overfill it, so don’t put too much in at first
STEP 9
- To reset you service light to car settings using the media control knob
- Once, you’re in the vehicle settings click the lower right button (there’s 4 buttons beside the knob.
- Scroll down and look for service maintenance and choose reset light.
