locate the oil filter and drain hose.
loosen the hose clamp that holds the drain hose. Place the drain pan under the hose and pull the hose off.
pull the dipstick plug from the oil bucket to help the oil drain.
After the oil has stopped draining from the hose you can re connect the hose, tighten the clamp and put the drain pan under the oil filter.
Using the filter wrench, loosen the filter and then unscrew it by hand. Let the oil drain.
When it finishes draining, clean up any oil with a soft rag. you can use a bit of brake clean to get all of the residue.
Next, you need the new oil and filter.
Lubricate the new filter rubber with a bit of engine oil and pour oil into the filter until about half full.
Screw the filter on by hand and tighten 3/4 of a turn after rubber contact. Do not over tighten. 3/4 turn is max tight.
Now pour in the new oil. (3 quarts or 2.84 liters).
You will need to warm the bike up to operating temperature to check the final levels. This is done with the bike sitting level and not on the jiffy stand. The correct level is between the notches at operating temperature.
Check to make sure there are no leaks at the filter and hose.
